| Liquid in 2008 |
This was Liquid the first year we had her in Puerto Vallarta. She was at the Nuevo Vallarta Marina. She was still in pretty rough shape. She had literally been sinking before we bought her. Electrolysis had caused more intense pitting right at the turn of the bilge and one of the pits had begun a slow leak. This coupled with an unplugged boat / dead batteries and inoperative bilge pumps had almost caused her demise. Thankfully a fellow dock mate noticed she was sitting very low in the water and prompted some investigation. Water was pumped out, the leak plugged and she was saved.

Looking Aft...

This photo is from before we bought her. This view forward was a bit of a mess as the previous owner still had all his items on board...
The best info we have been able to find regarding Sparkman and Stephens heritage has been relating to documents on board and other ancillary evidence.
The previous owner sold her as a Sparkman and Stephens steel ketch.
There are original logbooks on board with the name "Tern" and the name "Bozo". Who would name their boat Bozo? (maybe the original Bozo the Clown!!!)
Anyway the North American Yacht register for 1979 has a yacht "Bozo" the matches our description on page 64..
Sparkman and Stephens design 1674 Toc Toc is very close and built in the same yard by the same builder (Moerman)..
A call to S&S in 2000 ended with the comment that there was no record of her there that could be easily found. They also said that that didn't exclude her since records in the early 1960s may not have been as well kept as they are today....
